The Forced March: Choosing our way in a Decomposing World

Let's be honest—whether we're for or against each piece being moved on this chessboard, each statement, each movement of revolt, each response to these revolts, we can't ignore the destabilizing, disturbing, questioning nature of what's happening in the world, particularly since the beginning of the year.

An impression of the end of a cycle, or the end of the world? The end of a certain world, in any case; the end of landmarks as we've known them. And the question that follows, which we ask ourselves in different forms: how do I move forward in all of this? What do I do with it? What are my reference points? What should I put in place for my children? What decisions should I make to run my business? How do I deal with everything I have to manage?

For some time now, it has become clear to me that what we're going through collectively and individually demands that we reach for our inner resources, to see further. We must let what is asking to come to consciousness emerge. And this demand, sometimes imperious, sometimes exacting, leaves us little choice. It takes us on a forced march through chaos. To move forward and understand what's unfolding, we must look at what resists, to allow us to find our way. We'll need to discern what's playing out behind the tensions, what they're telling us about ourselves, about our humanity, about our environment.

Watching the Mirror of Our Illusions Shatter

What we're living through collectively is not a passing crisis, but a turning point, a brutal revelation: that of our own flaws, our fears, our refusal to see what matters to us. Polarization is no accident. It's the symptom of a part of humanity that, rather than confronting its shadows, prefers to develop an all-powerful ego, to seize all power. This pushes us to take a stand. We're witnessing intense polarization, extremes, a few people who want to monopolize resources, the economy, your spending (your energy) to enrich themselves ever more, to get what they want, at the expense of others.

We can clearly see a trend: one must impose oneself, there's no longer room for discussion, it's no longer desired—it's the law of the strongest. There's only the will for absolute (egoic) power, to reign supreme, to maintain control at all costs. The other no longer has a place; their opinion is not heard, their protests are treated with contempt and crushed, often with violence (physical, verbal, emotional, mental). The egoic force of the all-powerful me, running unchecked.

Technologies and Artificial Intelligence separate us more and more, inwardly and outwardly. We can no longer distinguish true from false, who's saying what—confusion reigns supreme, and behind it, the one who manipulates it.

Politics divides us, brandishes fears in addition to threats, and forces us into a framework that will only serve a few, leaving others drained and lost. Politics, for that matter, no longer makes sense, since we have states, and supra-states, that are privatized, in the hands of those who hold the keys to finance, flows, and that windfall they cannot renounce. Then there are wars, people in revolt, who can no longer bear the systems imposed on them that don't reflect who they are.

However, I'm not defeatist. I believe all of this is happening for a reason and that we can change things. What we're going through is a reflection of our interiority, and it's complex. When something tightens, cracks, it's because something else is asking to emerge, to come to consciousness, to help us find our center, our power (a power that is an inner strength, not a power that crushes the other).

Observing What Seeks to Emerge: The Path of Consciousness

The solution is not political—we can clearly see that we vote to elect people who implement their programs, their agendas, regardless of what voters say. It lies within each of us.

These fractures on different levels, in very different contexts, are, to me, chaos at work. But chaos is creative—it's a powerful force that allows consciousness to emerge, to make its place.

Since humans are paradoxical, learning only through difficulty and suffering, life brings us there willingly or by force so that we can reach for our resources, what I call our inner power. To face ourselves, to face our shadow, just as we're facing the shadow of the world here, the collective shadow, and to sort through it all, to decide our posture, where we want to go.

This is what 2026 is asking of us. It's not about deciding everything and finding everything immediately, but asking the question and starting to take action. Each person, according to their capacity, in what we do, in who we are, in our different roles.

Given what the world is throwing at us, I clearly feel that what's asking to emerge (and the path to follow to avoid being swept away) is:

  • This year, new foundations need to be laid, removing what's no longer current, what's working against us, where we're losing energy, and opening up one or more spaces to explore other ways of doing things.

  • An essential polarity to rebalance, in my view, is masculine and feminine energies. No more law of the strongest, of the one who crushes—it's becoming urgent to invite creativity, nature, inclusion, collaboration.

  • It will be essential to weave connections with humanity, real humanity, in listening to and accepting the other.

  • Cooperation, partnerships, doing/building together, aligned with common values.

  • While everything fragments us, it's essential to recenter ourselves, not to let ourselves be led by the virtual, but to reclaim our power, to choose, to become conscious, to reconnect with the living. And why not use certain technologies to help us create and share? Intention remains paramount, in my view.

  • Where all-powerful egos are expressing themselves, let each person look at their own, and calm it by not letting our wounds, our sensitivity, our beliefs take over and make us what they want. On the contrary, let your true self emerge.

  • It's also about clarity: rather than pursuing anything and illusions that separate us, it's important to return to ourselves, to what matters to us, to be clear about our intentions and act on them. This year 1 asks us to cut through, to be ourselves, and therefore, first, to know who we are, beyond ego and beliefs.

  • When certainties fall, the essential skill becomes the ability to adapt, to be capable of moving through discomfort. And more than that, to understand its meaning, because discomfort makes us grow. Do we accept growing?

  • Slowing down becomes essential. Not because it's trendy, but to go deeper, to open ourselves to consciousness and be intentional. Because these changes, if we're willing to make them, require a bit of time to be clear, to try, to establish what we want.

  • The way to change the world is not political, but made of individuals who unite and find a new form of collectivity.

I believe that beyond the ambient noise, there's space for quiet revolutionaries, those who like to make less noise but do what's essential to them. Each person will find the place that's right for them.

Take a moment to put all this down, so it doesn't remain just hot air, and establish these elements: what are your new foundations? What elements have you set aside? What difficulties are you going through? What can you draw from them, what's asking to come to consciousness?

I wish you to find your right space and to weave connections.

With love, Claire
